Usage¶
Usage tracks every pay-per-use action inside Gem Logic, such as SMS, phone calls, AI image generation, AI text generation, and more. Each action has a small cost that is deducted from either your monthly included allowance or your on-demand balance. The totals are shared across the whole database.
Where to find it¶
Navigate to to see:
Your Included usage for the current billing period and how much of it has been consumed so far.
Your On-demand balance, which is the prepaid amount used once the included allowance runs out.
A 30-day chart of your usage, broken down by service.
The detailed Usage history listing every action that consumed usage.
Included allowance and on-demand balance¶
Every subscription plan comes with a monthly included usage amount, shown in your company’s default currency. Consumption is deducted from this allowance first and the counter resets at the start of each billing period.
Once the included allowance is exhausted, further actions are charged against your On-demand balance. This is a prepaid pot you top up yourself; it never expires and is carried over from one period to the next.
Topping up the on-demand balance¶
Click Add credit and choose one of the preset amounts (10, 100, or 1,000 in your default currency). You are redirected to a secure Stripe checkout to complete the payment. A VAT-compliant receipt is generated automatically.
Once the payment succeeds, the amount is added to your on-demand balance immediately.
Auto top-up¶
To avoid service interruptions you can enable automatic top-ups. Click Auto top-up and configure:
Trigger below: the balance threshold that starts an automatic charge.
Recharge amount: the amount to add when the threshold is reached.
The card used for your last manual top-up is reused for automatic charges. If a charge fails, the reason is displayed on the Usage page so you can update your payment method.
Services that consume usage¶
Any pay-per-use feature in Gem Logic draws from your usage, including:
SMS: cost depends on the destination country and message length (long messages are split into multiple segments, each billed separately).
Phone calls: charged per minute based on the destination.
AI image generation: used to produce product pictures and similar visuals.
AI text generation: covers the AI assistant agent, email drafting, polishing and subject generation, templated email creation, jewelry tips, and structured AI helpers (for example parsing contacts or addresses). Each call is billed per token with a small markup applied on top of the underlying model cost; calls are hard-blocked once the usage balance reaches zero.
Any other pay-per-use feature added to Gem Logic in the future.
If both the included allowance and the on-demand balance reach zero, paid services are paused until you top up or the next billing period begins.
Usage history¶
The Usage history table lists every action that consumed usage, with the date, the type of service, a short description, and the exact cost. Use it to audit consumption or to understand which services drive your monthly spend.
Permissions¶
Only users with the billing permission can view the Usage page, top up the balance, and configure auto top-up. Assign this permission from on the user’s role.
