Certificates¶

Certificates are documents of authenticity that you can generate for your products. They are commonly used in the jewelry industry to certify the materials, gemstones, and value of a piece. Gem Logic lets you create certificates from scratch or directly from an order, generate professional PDFs using customizable templates, and share them with customers via a public portal.

Creating a certificate¶

There are three ways to create a certificate:

From an order item: on the order detail page, create a certificate for a single line item. The product, price, contact, and material details are copied automatically.
Global order certificate: create one certificate that covers all items in an order at once.
Standalone: create a blank certificate from the certificates list and fill in the details manually.

When a certificate is created from an order item, Gem Logic automatically populates the material and gemstone information from the product’s cost breakdown, saving you from entering it by hand.

Detail page¶

The certificate detail page is split into two sections:

Left side — the editable form and material items:

Certificate items: each item represents a material or gemstone entry on the certificate. You can add items with details such as material type, weight, unit, gem shape, color, clarity, quantity, and extra info. Items are automatically created from the product’s cost card when generating a certificate from an order.
Certificate form: edit the date, contact, amount, currency, product, product description, language, and a description field for additional terms or notes. Changes are saved automatically.

Right side — a live PDF preview of the certificate. If a blanco (blank) version is configured, it is shown below the standard preview. The blanco version omits the background and logo, intended for printing on pre-printed stationery.

From the header you can open the PDF externally, email the certificate to the linked contact, access certificate settings, or delete the certificate.

Templates¶

Gem Logic includes a library of certificate templates in portrait, landscape, and card formats. You can choose a template from the certificate settings page, where each option is shown as a visual preview.

Templates support:

Custom logo and background image
Company name, address, and contact details
A description field for default terms and conditions applied to new certificates
An authorized signature — either drawn directly in the browser or uploaded as an image
Options to hide the value or hide the weight on the generated PDF
A blanco mode toggle to also generate a version without background for pre-printed paper

Changes to the settings are reflected in a live preview on the right side of the settings page.

Customer portal¶

The customer portal is a public page where customers can look up their certificate by entering the certificate ID. Each certificate also has a unique link and QR code that can be shared directly.

The portal can be enabled or disabled from the certificate settings, and you can upload a custom logo to brand the portal page.

Printing¶

Certificates can be printed directly from the detail page or from the order page. Both the standard and blanco versions have their own print buttons, and printing is handled through Gem Logic’s printer configuration.

Filtering¶

The certificate list can be filtered by:

Date range
Contact
Created by

You can also search by certificate ID using the search bar.
