Creating a gift card with unique code in Gem Logic

Create gift cards with unique codes

Every gift card gets an auto-generated unique code with a configurable prefix. Set up your own format, for example "GC-XXXXX", so your gift cards are instantly recognizable and easy to look up at the register.

  • Initial balance - set any amount in your store's currency
  • Currency - gift cards follow the currency of your business
  • Expiration date - optionally set an expiration so gift cards are valid for a defined period
  • Custom prefix - configure the code format to match your branding

Create gift cards in bulk

Preparing for the holiday season, a special promotion, or a corporate event? Create multiple gift cards at once with the same balance, currency, and expiration date. Each card gets its own unique code, ready to sell or distribute.

Bulk creation is ideal for jewelers who want to have pre-made gift cards ready at the counter for Christmas, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, or any occasion where customers look for a thoughtful, elegant gift.

Sell and accept gift cards from one screen

Gift cards work seamlessly within the Gem Logic sales flow. Create a gift card and sell it as a line item, or accept one as payment during checkout. No separate tools needed.

Sell a gift card

Create a new gift card and add it as a line item in a sale order, all from the same checkout screen. The customer pays for the gift card just like any other product.

The gift card is activated as soon as the sale is confirmed. The code, balance, and expiration date are all set automatically.

Accept as payment

During checkout, select gift card as a payment method and enter the code. The system checks the balance, active status, and expiration date before applying the payment.

If the gift card balance does not cover the full amount, your customer can pay the remainder with another method. Split payments are fully supported.

Real-time balance tracking

Every gift card shows its current balance in real-time: the initial amount minus all transactions. There is no need to check a separate system or call a customer to verify their remaining balance.

Each gift card keeps a complete transaction history. You can see exactly when and where every payment was made, how much was deducted, and what the remaining balance is after each transaction.

When a customer asks how much is left on their gift card, you can look it up by code in seconds and give them an immediate, accurate answer.

Print it, hand it over

Gift cards are not just digital entries. Gem Logic generates professional, printable documents that your customers can give as a gift.

Printable gift card PDF

Generate a professional PDF document for each gift card. It includes the unique code, balance, expiration date, and your store's branding.

The document is generated in the customer's language, so it is always personal and ready to hand over as a gift.

Store credit and value vouchers

Gift cards double as store credit. When a customer has a negative outstanding balance, for example from selling old gold, you can convert that amount into a gift card that works as a value voucher.

The customer can use this voucher for future purchases, keeping the value within your store instead of requiring an immediate refund.

Gift cards driving revenue for jewelry stores

A revenue driver for your jewelry store

Gift cards bring new customers through your door. When someone receives a gift card, they visit your store, often spending more than the card's value. For jewelers, this is particularly valuable around holidays, anniversaries, and birthdays.

  • Guaranteed revenue - the sale is made when the gift card is purchased
  • New customers - recipients who may never have visited your store
  • Higher spend - gift card holders often spend above the card's value
  • No inventory risk - gift cards have no cost of goods, no storage, and no depreciation
