Moving to a new system does not have to be stressful. Whether you are coming from old desktop software, spreadsheets, or another provider, we will help you bring your data over so you can pick up right where you left off.
How the migration works
The process is straightforward. We have done this hundreds of times and know exactly what is needed to get you up and running.
Export your data
Export your existing data from your current system in Excel or CSV format. Your current provider is required to give you access to your data.
We import it
Our team imports your data into Gem Logic, mapping everything to the right fields. You can also do this yourself using our built-in import module.
You are up and running
Once your data is in, we verify everything together. Your team gets trained, and you can start using Gem Logic right away.
The data that matters most
There are three types of data that are essential when switching to a new system. These are the non-negotiables that need to come with you.
Products and stock
Your full inventory with descriptions, pricing, materials, weights, and any other product details you have been tracking.
Contacts
Your customers and suppliers with their contact details, addresses, and any notes or preferences you have stored.
Sales and repair history
Your past sales transactions and repair records so you keep a complete history of your business activity.
These three data types cover what matters most. If you have additional data that you would like to bring over, we can discuss that on a case-by-case basis.
Your data belongs to you
Your current software provider is obliged to give you access to your data. They must either provide you with a direct export or offer a straightforward way for you to extract your information. This is your data and you have every right to take it with you.

Common questions about migration
Most migrations are completed within a few days. Once we receive your export files, the actual import usually takes less than a day. The rest of the time is spent on verification and training your team.
We accept Excel (.xlsx, .xls) and CSV files. These are the most common formats that other systems export to. If your current system exports in a different format, contact us and we will work out a solution.
Your service provider is legally obliged to provide you with your data or offer an easy way to export it. If you are running into difficulties, reach out to us. We have dealt with these situations before and can help you navigate the process.
